The EAF-Nansen Programme Forum 2025 in Mombasa, Kenya, celebrated 50 years of partnership between the FAO, Norway, and partner countries. This initiative advances sustainable fisheries and ocean science for food security, with the Forum exploring climate resilience, innovation, and future directions.
Dating back to 1975, the EAF-Nansen Programme is FAO and Norway's longest-running fisheries development initiative, executed with the Institute of Marine Research (IMR). It has supported 60 countries across Africa, Asia, and the Americas in fisheries research, management, and capacity building, contributing to global food security, SDGs, and FAO’s Blue Transformation vision.
