Cultural thinker Roman Krznaric delivered "How to start an empathy revolution" at TEDxAthens 2013. Based on his book *Empathy: A Handbook for Revolution*, his talk emphasizes that empathy can be taught and used to drive social change.

Krznaric urges us to cultivate tolerance by understanding others, challenging stereotypes, and fostering curiosity about strangers. He references successful programs like Roots of Empathy and the Human Library.

A founding faculty member of The School of Life and founder of the Empathy Library, Krznaric advises organizations including Oxfam and the UN. He is recognized as a leading lifestyle philosopher, promoting empathy and conversation for societal transformation.

Simon Baron-Cohen, Professor of Developmental Psychopathology at the University of Cambridge and Fellow at Trinity College, discusses social factors that erode empathy. These include obedience to authority, ideological beliefs, stereotyping, and dehumanizing groups.

He directs the Autism Research Centre (ARC) in Cambridge. His notable books include *Mindblindness*, *The Essential Difference*, *Prenatal Testosterone in Mind*, *Zero Degrees of Empathy*, and *Autism and Asperger Syndrome: The Facts*. He is a Fellow of the BPS and the British Academy.

Dr. Helen Riess is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She directs the Empathy & Relational Science Program, conducting research on the neuroscience of emotions and empathy. Dr. Riess is also Co-Founder, Chief Scientist, and Chairman of Empathetics, LLC, and a faculty member at the Harvard Macy Institute for Physician Leaders. Her career focuses on the patient-doctor relationship and teaching, with her empathy training approach proven effective in randomized controlled trials.
