The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Veterinary Association (WVA), and African Veterinary Technicians Association (AVTA) host a webinar on strengthening collaboration between veterinarians and veterinary paraprofessionals (VPPs) in Nigeria, Uganda, and South Africa. It shares results from FAO’s Empowering Veterinary Paraprofessional Entrepreneurs project.
Vets and VPPs have complementary roles. Stronger collaboration improves service coordination, expands access for livestock farmers, and enhances disease prevention, surveillance, and response. This builds resilient animal health systems, sustainable livestock production, improved livelihoods, and food security.
