World Food Day 2025 culminated a year-long campaign for FAO's 80th anniversary. Its call to action, "Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future," was communicated in over 53 languages.
The campaign achieved significant global reach: 8,300+ online news articles, 58 million radio listeners, 112 TV broadcasters, and 1.5 billion social media accounts. FAO.org saw 368,000 views. Partnerships with municipalities, transport, retail, and entertainment companies extended the message to 100+ cities in 50 countries.

The FAST Partnership webinar explored how high-integrity carbon markets can mobilize climate finance for agrifood systems, aligning with national climate goals and social safeguards. Participants gained practical insights into voluntary and compliance markets, Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, and opportunities/risks for agrifood actors, including farmers, agribusinesses, and financial institutions.
The session emphasized policy conditions crucial for catalyzing private sector demand, such as robust governance, clear authorization, and strong MRV systems. By sharing real-world examples and policy insights, the webinar aims to help stakeholders responsibly scale carbon market participation and unlock sustainable investment.
