eLocust4: Desert Locust data sent via satellite
March 05, 2026

eLocust4 enables national officers in locust-affected countries to record and transmit real-time field data via satellite. This data feeds FAO's Desert Locust Information Service (DLIS) in Rome, forming the basis for a global monitoring and early warning system. It facilitates situation assessment, forecasting, and timely warnings to countries and donors, supporting a preventive control strategy to mitigate devastating locust plagues.
