Healthy and local is the focus of this special collection around the people who grow and bring organic food to local markets and the people who shop at these markets. Topics also include how farmers grow organic food and the quality of our food supply around issues to include local economy, seeding, use of pestisides and fertilisers, water, food security, availability and pricing.

In his 2025 year-end message, FAO Director-General Dr. Qu Dongyu highlighted FAO's 80-year dedication to eradicating global hunger. He underscored that the right to adequate food is a fundamental human right and that peace is essential for food security. Dr. Qu praised collaboration, innovation, and the "four betters" (production, nutrition, environment, life) as crucial for shaping a shared future.

Reaffirming this enduring commitment, FAO continues to leverage past experience and integrate innovation to transform agrifood systems. The organization urges collective action towards food security and peace, ensuring no one is left behind. This vision, celebrated with the launch of the FAO Museum and Network, aims to fulfill the hopes of future generations.
