Fossil Fuel Finance: The Economic Drivers Perpetuating Carbon-based Energy Systems

Session 2 of The Boulder Forum on Economy, Climate and Community explored how public policy perpetuates fossil fuel dependency, a less-considered aspect of climate change. The forum, hosted by the City of Boulder with Bioneers as a partner, features global discussions on the economy's role in climate.

Speakers included Lolita Jackson, former NYC lead climate strategist who shaped the city's energy transition, and Robert Hockett, a Cornell Law professor who advised Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the Green New Deal and authored "Financing the Green New Deal." Colorado State Senator Steve Fenberg, a champion of climate legislation, also participated as a local panelist.
