Salzburg Global Seminar
The mission of the Salzburg Global Seminar is to challenge present and future leaders to solve issues of global concern.  It convenes imaginative thinkers from different cultures and institutions, organizes problem-focused initiatives, supports leadership development, and engages opinion-makers through active communication networks, all in partnership with leading institutions from around the world and across different sectors of society.
The Salzburg Global Seminar seeks to magnify the impact of individuals and institutions that bring just and humane values to bear on the global challenges facing their societies and the world and is an an independent, non-governmental organization with a Board of Directors drawn from diverse regions, backgrounds and fields of expertise.

Libraries and Museums in 2020 by Michael Stephens

Michael Stephens attended the session entitled, "Libraries and Museums in an Era of Participatory Culture" in October, 2011, at the Salzburg Global Seminar. While onsite, he disseminated the ideas and information from the conference on his blog, "Tame the Web".

Dr. Michael Stephens is an Assistant Professor in the School of Library and Information Science at San Jose State University.
