How we use information to motivate and inspire citizens and organizations of all stripes to change their consumption habits is the challenge for all of us who accept &#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">explicit responsibility to help change the world&#8221; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">and who are marketers and communicators.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Can we agree on this?<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s some examples of messages that educate, motivate and inspire while addressing the whole, not pieces and parts:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Circular Economy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.earthsayers.com\/special_collection\/Re-thinking_Progress_The_Circular_Economy\/13\/20673\" target=\"_blank\">Rethinking the Economy<\/a> by Ellen MacArthur Foundation,<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Julia Butterfly-Hill\" href=\"http:\/\/www.earthsayers.com\/special_collection\/Disconnected_Consciousness_by_Julia_Butterly-Hill\/31\/13910\" target=\"_blank\">disConnected Consciousness<\/a> by environmentalist Julia Butterfly Hill,<\/p>\n<p>and John Marshall Roberts on the <a title=\"John Marshall Roberts\" href=\"http:\/\/www.earthsayers.com\/special_collection\/Inspiring_Sustainability_in_Skeptics---John_Marshall_Roberts\/15\/20993\" target=\"_blank\">Science of Inspiration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>By: Ruth Ann Barrett, Sustainability Advocate, Earthsayers.tv, February 8, 2012, Portland, Oregon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The one issue consumers most want companies to address is economic development according to the latest Cone\/Echo study of consumers.
